Ruthie Henshall gives support to Sophie

2

Ruthie Henshall from Chicago gave moral support to Sophie during the final of Over The Rainbow.

Sophie started off by singing “Tomorrow” from the musical Annie. Then for her own choice from previous weeks, Sophie selected Reflection and I thought she made more of it than the first time round, whereas Danielle merely repeated a perfect rendition of Mambo Italiano.

Finally, there could only be one winner and the votes stacked up for Danielle just a little bit higher, which means that while the role of Dorothy next year won;t be going to Sophie, instead she will perhaps be free to take on other roles in the West End, at an earlier date, derpending on what Andrew Lloyd Webber has in store for her, compared to the many other offers Sophie Evans is sure to be receiving.

The support behind Welsh singer Sophie Evans for Dorothy in Over The Rainbow has been boosted by Amanda Holden, one of the judges for Britain’s Got Talent who admitted she is a big fan of the BBC Wizard of Oz casting competition show.

Writing on Twitter.com last weekend Amanda asked followers which Dorothy got eliminated. When she heard it had been Steph Fearon she wrote: “Why is no one going mad for Sophie? Surely she is the one!”

I don’t suppose it makes any odds that somebody from a rival talent show is backing Sophie but it must be nice to know anyhow. Have you heard of any other celebs backing Sophie so far?

Sophie Evans Bio

Sophie started singing as soon as she could speak. Music is in her family – she gets her ability to sing from her mother, who she lives with in Wales along with her father and younger sister and pet dog.

Charlotte Church commented that this week Sophie had ‘really upped her game’, and she has certainly moved out from the danger zone and into a position of being a strong contender for the role of Dorothy in Wizard of Oz.
